Capital One Lounge Denver Review: What You Need to Know
This Capital One Denver Airport Lounge review covers location, entry rules, food, and amenities, plus whether it’s worth paying the $90 entry fee if you don’t have an eligible card. The Capital One Lounge at DEN is known for excellent restaurant-style dining, helpful staff, and extras like showers and grab-and-go snacks. But it’s also one of the smaller lounges at the airport, which means crowds and waitlists are common.
Bottom line: If you already have a Venture X card, it’s worth stopping in. If you’d need to pay, it only makes sense if you’ll make full use of the Denver Capital One Lounge amenities.

Where Is the Capital One Lounge Located at DEN?
Denver International Airport (DEN) has one main terminal and three concourses. The Capital One Lounge Denver is located in Concourse A near gate A34 on the Mezzanine (Level 3).
- Escalators: Located on Level 2, between Blue Sky Bar and Flight Stop store.
- Elevators: The elevator is tucked behind the escalators and opens near the back of the lounge by the kitchen (I learned this the hard way – you may get some surprised looks if you come in this way).
- Capacity Sign: The escalator is where you’ll see if the lounge is full before you head up (you can also check the app)

Capital One Lounge at DEN Hours & Access

Required Items for Entry
- Must show your physical eligible card (no virtual numbers).
- Must present a boarding pass for a departing or connecting flight within 3 hours.
Time Limits & Re-Entry
- The 3-hour limit is enforced. I was denied when trying to check in about 4 hours early, but allowed in at 3 hours and 15 minutes prior to boarding.
- You can leave and re-enter within your 3-hour window. We left to grab food for our daughter and came back with no issue, they advised us to show our Wi-Fi card if at capacity.
Ease of Entry: Waitlist and App Considerations
Meeting the access requirements doesn’t always mean immediate entry. The Denver Capital One Lounge is small, and wait times of up to 90 minutes are common, especially during peak hours.
Good to know: Even if the lounge is full, you may still be able to pick some grab and go snacks, sandwiches or drinks to take with you.
Tip: Use the Capital One app to check capacity and join the waitlist.

Kids & Allergies: What to Expect
I acknowledge this lounge is not catering specifically to kids or those with allergies, but having both in my family, it’s nice to know what to expect.
- Kids: Don’t expect chicken tenders or fries here. The buffet is full of restaurant-style, gourmet dishes. Some adventurous kids might dig right in (I watched one toddler happily eating from the buffet and was honestly impressed). But if your child is picky, the options are slim. Most of the kids I saw were eating McDonald’s or Pizza Hut from the terminal instead.
- Allergies: This was more disappointing for me as a parent of a child with a peanut allergy. The lounge does use food labels with indicators like vegetarian, “avoiding gluten,” and “contains nuts.” Still, when I asked specifically about peanuts in the pastry box, the very kind staff checked with the kitchen. The answer: while they can make buffet items without certain ingredients upon request, there are no precautions to prevent cross-contamination. Tree nuts and peanuts are used in many dishes.
For us, that meant we grabbed pizza in the terminal for our peanut-allergic child. We probably would have anyway since she’s also picky, but it would have been awesome to give her a free treat for dessert. We guiltfully ate our chocolate croissants while she wasn’t paying attention!
Drinks
- Coffee & Tea: Drip coffee, cold brew, tea bags, and basic milk/sweetener options.
- Unique soft drinks: Agave vanilla cream, black cherry tarragon, pineapple cream, and more.
- Alcohol & specialty coffee drinks: Available at the bar. Lattes and cappuccinos also must be made at the bar, which can mean a short wait.
- Extra-cost options: Elevated Selections and Rare Bottle Club can be purchased for an extra cost.

Bathrooms & Showers
- Bathrooms: 6 single-use restrooms. They are clean and roomy, but there were many times a short line to wait for an open unit.
- Showers: Two private suites are available that you can book at reception. There is also a Dyson hair dryer attached to the wall for use.

Other Amenities
- Parents’ Room: Private space for families with babies or toddlers.
- Work Rooms: Unlockable by staff, useful if the lounge is crowded.
- Relaxation Rooms: Reserve in 45-minute increments.
- Power Outlets: Available throughout.
Art & Design
The lounge design is simple and comfortable with tasteful artwork. It’s pleasant, but not particularly memorable. What does stand out is the size. It feels smaller and more crowded than many lounges. Still, it’s quieter and more comfortable than sitting at the gate.
Layout overview:
- One side: Chairs, workspaces, and private rooms.
- Other side: Buffet, dining tables, restrooms, and showers.
These are connected by additional tables and chairs overlooking the center cutout and concourse below.
Center cutout: Glass-enclosed view down to Concourse Level 2 and the escalators for entry to the lounge.

Atmosphere
- Demographic: Mostly adults and business travelers, with some families.
- Noise level: Quiet background music, but overall very quiet even when busy.
- Seating: Can be difficult to find during peak times.
