About Me

Hi, I’m Megan — the creator behind Journey Currencies.
I’m an introverted, detail-loving travel planner who believes unforgettable trips don’t have to come with an unforgettable price tag.

I started this blog as a stay-at-home parent in a one-income household — and honestly, I didn’t think points and miles were for people like me. I was already good at budgeting and finding deals, but I couldn’t spend the way I thought was needed to make it work. Over time, I discovered that you don’t need to spend big to earn big — lower spenders can still see real rewards, and those who spend more just earn faster. With points, miles, and smart planning, I’ve found ways to travel better without stretching our budget. Now I want to help you do the same.

Journey Currencies is where mindful travel meets practical strategy.
Whether you’re booking your first trip with points or hoping to stretch a basic ticket into something a little more comfortable, I’ll guide you through it with clear tips and a steady approach — keeping it simple and easy to follow.

You won’t find flashy promises here. Just tools that work, lessons learned from real experience, and a space built for beginners, families, and anyone looking to travel more (and better) on a budget that makes sense.

Think of this space as a quiet corner of the internet — where travel planning feels doable, smart strategies shine, and your goals stay front and center.

Just for fun:

  • 🐠 Favorite place to wander: Any aquarium — especially if there are playful otters and I get to watch my daughter take it all in with wide-eyed excitement.
  • 🧳 Favorite travel splurge: A peaceful lie-flat seat in the sky, drifting off to sleep on the way to somewhere new.
  • 💳 Best feeling: Booking a luxury trip with points and spending less than what I would’ve paid in cash for a budget option.
  • 📍Dream trip I’m planning: A relaxed resort hop through Hawaii — showing my family (and my parents!) just how far points can take us.
  • 🌺 Little thing I love: Daylilies. My grandparents grew them, and now their daylilies bloom in my own garden. Each bloom feels like a gentle reminder to slow down and savor what matters — in travel and in life.
